Overview jump to: Availability jump to: How to bundle For those playing Sims 4 in Windows or macOS, EA allows players to customize and buy a bundle of DLC at a discount over the packs' individual prices. The bundle must consist of one expansion, one game pack, and one stuff pack, all currently eligible for bundling (see below) and unowned by the player. Kits are not included at this time. If you own all eligible packs in one category, you won't be able to create a bundle. Console players do not have the ability to bundle at this time. How to bundle EA App Open "My collection," click the Sims 4 icon, and under "The Sims 4," click "Bundle & save," which will be next to "Add-ons." Otherwise, choose your preferred expansion, game pack, and stuff pack, and proceed to checkout. Sims 4: Farm Life - Idea
Farm Career The farmer career is an active career that requires you to live and work on a farm. You can build your own farm and buy and sell animals and produce using the computer or farmers' market, which is on Wednesdays and Sundays in the town centre or park. The farmers' market sells all sorts of produce, from new livestock which the sim can buy and transfer to their farm, to milk and wool which anyone can buy. Farmers must attend to their livestock everyday and ensure they are all well fed and happy. This can be done through 'checking' on individual animals or an entire herd. This will highlight any issues an animal has, so the farmer can sort it. A farmer must manage their farm efficiently and effectively to make it profitable. They can take a horse out and ride around the fields to check on livestock not on the farm lot, and take a dog for efficient herding. A farm vet career is a sub-option of the vet career and they can be called out at any time of the day or night to help on a farm, whether it is delivering a new calf or lamb, to treating sick or elderly livestock. Farm diseases can spread quickly, so it is important to treat infected animals with speed and accuracy. A farmer also has the option of growing crops in fields not on the farm lot. This requires a tractor or a horse for ploughing the fields. They must plough, plant and harvest fields with a variety of crops to choose from. These can then be eaten or sold at the farmers' market. At a high level of the riding skill, farmers can teach others how to ride a horse. This creates the idea of a riding school, where sims run a farm for horses and have other sims pay them to teach them to ride. Ads can be sent out using the computer for a riding school and bookings received for unplayed sims to come to the riding school. Sometimes, a school trip may come to the farm, and a farmer must teach the children about the animals and how the farm works. Livestock Farmers have a range of livestock available to them. These livestock are not playable and do not appear as part of the household, so an unlimited number can be owned. Sims can name each one of their livestock if they so wish, and tag them with a personalised ear tag in case a thief attempts to steal them. Livestock comes in different colours depending on the animals, so they are all individual. The livestock would be genetically similar to the parents, so farmers can strategically breed desirable characteristics and create new breeds. It must be remembered that livestock don't live forever, and can die from old age, disease or for the meat. In these circumstances, they are removed from the care of a sim in the same way a sim death would appear. Livestock includes: Chickens - farmers can collect eggs from the coops. They can also keep a rooster for breeding. Sims need to be careful not to collect eggs that contain chicks! Sheep - farmers can move sheep around so that they can be on the farm lot, or in a separate field. They can be sheered and bred; a farmer may want to keep one or two rams, but they can be a bit of a handful. Sheep can only be moved from fields to farm lots and vice versa whilst contained in a herding pen. Cows - cows can be milked in the milking sheds and can be moved from the farm lot to separate fields. Bulls can be kept for breeding. Cows can only be moved from fields to the farm lot and vice versa when contained in a herding pen. Pigs - pigs can be kept in pigsties on the farm lot and can be bred to be sold. Horses - draught horses such as shires and Suffolk punches, can be kept to pull ploughs and do other heavy farm work, although some farmers may choose tractors over horses. Horses can be bred and can also be ridden around farms. Other breeds of horse can also be kept in the stables and used for farm work, though heavy horses are the most efficient. There should be different sizes of horse, so the biggest such as shires are used for farm work, medium horses such as warmbloods and thoroughbreds can be used for riding, and small ponies such as Shetlands can be used for children who are learning to ride. Horses can also be put into separate fields when not being used. Dogs - dogs can be trained to herd sheep and cows, though this may take a few tries. Sims and dogs can learn the herding skill where the sim teaches the dog whistle commands to herd livestock into pens for checking and moving around. Farmers now have the option to remove a dog from a playable household and let it become a full-time working farm dog. They live in kennels on the farm and can be trained to herd livestock. Cats - farm cats can be owned to lower the rodent population on the farm lot. Sims now have the option for cats to be removed from playable households and become full-time farm cats. They choose their own place to live, whether it be in a barn, stable or pigsty, and will learn the hunting skill. Kittens may unexpectedly appear after a cat has returned from a wonder from the farm. Stray cats may also take up residence on the farm. Sims have the option to chase away farm cats to remove them from the farm. They then become strays again. Llamas - as with the tradition of Sims, llamas should finally become part of the active game and be bred for their wool. Though sims should be careful with these or they could be spat on which causes a drastic change of mood. Occasionally, youngstock that a farmer has bred get abandoned by their mothers, meaning the sim must take them into their house to care for them individually, bottle feeding and keeping them warm. It is rare, but in this event, a lamb or calf may take a particular liking to a sim and has the option to become part of the household as a pet. Build/Buy Farm lots are bigger lots and off site fields are available to the farmer where they keep livestock. Each farm site and fields must be purchased, much like the restaurants and shops. Farmers can buy as many fields as they would like to expand their farm, but must remember that they must attend all of them. Farm lots can have pigsties, chicken coops, barns, cow sheds, milking sheds and stables built on them. Kennels are also available for farm dogs. A riding arena is another thing that can be built for a particularly horse mad family, possibly paving the way to a riding school rather than a farm. Farmers can buy tractors to help in the fields. These are expensive, but are more efficient than horses. Alternatively, they can buy a manual plough for a draught horse which is cheap, but less efficient. Farmers can buy a milking stool for manual milking, or an automatic milker. Skills Farmers can learn new skills on the farm: Riding skill - farmers can ride horses and must learn how to ride well. At a high level, they can teach others to ride, and can ride a horse whilst leading another one. This is particularly useful when teaching a child to ride. Sims can keep small ponies for toddlers and children. Toddlers can only be sat on them, but children can begin to learn to ride, which helps build the motor skill. Sims can learn to jump, do dressage and perform tricks with their horse. A riding arena can be built for sims who want to ride properly, rather than just around the farm. Herding skill - farmers can learn to herd livestock with the aid of a dog so that they can transfer livestock from the farm lot to separate fields and vice versa. They will learn certain whistles and cues that the dog follows to herd them into a pen. Crop skill (like the gardening skill) - farmers can learn how to effectively plant and grow crops. They will learn to plough well. Sheering/Milking skills - sheering sheep is not easy, so a farmer must learn how to sheer a sheep properly. The start of this skill may result in some hilarious sheep and llama hair cuts. The milking skill for cows will also aid when manually milking, if an automatic milker can not be afforded.

Sul sul, everyone! Did you know that the first video game was released more than six decades ago? On our side, we have an extensive and fascinating history that extends over 40 years. So many memories, stories, and anecdotes that we wouldn't mean anything without our community. So, what better way to celebrate National Video Game Day than here with you all. For all of us here at Electronic Arts, video games are much more than simply entertainment; they connect us with friends and family, teach us lessons, inspire us to develop our creativity, challenge us to learn new abilities/skills, and show the value of working together as a team. There is always a game for everyone, no matter their age, culture, or style; in fact, it has become a way of life for many of us. So, how are you going to celebrate? Do you have anything special planned? As a creature of habit, today I will be taking a break from arguing with a horse, and attempting to domesticate Greg, to explore some of the areas I don't typically visit in The Sims 4. I might spend some time in Newcrest for a change, or even give Merfolk a chance.
Celebrating Women's Equality Day in The Sims
Sul sul! EA_Cade here. This upcoming Saturday, August 26th is Women's Equality Day in America and I wanted to make sure we took the time to recognize and appreciate that fact here on Answers HQ, as well as open up the floor to discussion on what Women's Equality means to you, the Simmers. I myself have been at EA for just shy of 10 years (Time has f l o w n by, I still had hair back then😶) and one of the things that I immediately took notice of back when I was but a wee EA_Cadeling was just how proud EA was about celebrating all of the different cultures and people that make up the teams that allow us to do what we do on a day to day basis. Celebrating equality is always something that EA has shown the brightest of lights on as an organization, and over my decade here I've always been proud to see my fellow coworkers be represented and empowered to be excellent at what they do and be celebrated rather than hindered by who or what they happen to be. When speaking on equality, it would feel disingenuous to assume to speak on this topic further myself, so at this point I'll yield the floor to EA_Solaire (and all of the other amazing women I work with day-to-day) to share their thoughts on what equality means, and how they've seen it represented during their time here. I am honored to work side by side with incredibly talented, intelligent and passionate women each day here on the forums. I know our thoughts and opinions truly matter, and are reflected in the decisions made both on our team, and as an organization as a whole. Seeing the many, many amazing women we have in positions of leadership at all levels of our business, and especially at Maxis, gives me such a sense of empowerment, and I know that the future of The Sims franchise is in capable hands. And now, to celebrate 23 years of equal play with The Sims, I want to highlight my personal favorite women Sims and why I love them: Bella Goth of Willow Creek Bella has long been a Sim's icon, and arguably one of the most recognizable faces of the franchise. Not only is she a doting and devoted mother of 2, but she also works hard at her impressive job as an intelligence researcher in the secret agent career. With such a friendly demeanor (and amazing outfit choices) how could you not love her? Lily Feng of San Myshuno Lily is a Sim we can all truly admire for her incredible drive and ambition. She's a powerful and business-savvy CEO who won't let anything stop her from achieving her goals. Not only does she also have a wonderful eye for interior design (as you can see from their gorgeous modern style penthouse), but she also plays the violin! Agatha Crumplebottom of Henford-on-Bagley Agatha is a Sim we all universally love and adore - not only is she a genuine joy to be around, but she also owns and runs her own garden shop. She is a skilled cook, and an even better gardener. As a business owner and entrepreneur, Agatha is a Sim well deserving of our respect and recognition. Fear of Dead end job
I think about 90% of my sims have gotten this as of now. Even if some of my Sims are in there ideal careers (my painter sim in the artist profession) seem to just get this fear when it makes absolutely no sense. Another example is today one of my newer Sims came back from work and got promoted... He also returned with the fear of a dead end job... HOW DOSE THAT EVEN MAKE SENSE!!! He just got promoted! Update: 06/26/2018 - PC 1.44.83.1020 / Mac 1.44.83.1220 Hi Simmers! With the launch of Seasons we encountered a few issues we weren’t expecting and wanted to quickly address as many issues as possible. We’re still following up on several community reports, so if you know of an issue that isn’t listed here, be sure to engage with us on the Forums or social media to continue the conversations. Base Game We addressed an issue where fireplaces wouldn’t remain lit. Now, they should remain lit, and if they could talk, they would probably tell their friends “come thru, it’s lit.” Because it’ll literally be lit. We addressed some cases where players were experiencing severe lag when placing wallpapers in build mode. They always say the grass is greener on the other side, but here at Maxis we try to innovate, and unfortunately we made the grass really brown in some cases, even if you don’t have Seasons installed. We’ve now returned to our regularly scheduled green grass. Spliced plants now have a proper description so you know what comprises their genetic makeup. The underside of roof eaves no longer have texture. Plants were growing a bit too wildly out and about in the world. We’ve scaled them back with some digital, organic, completely sustainable pesticide. In the past, we accidentally made available several cheats that are meant for debugging and developing the game only. To be frank, the cheats are VERY dangerous and can have very unpredictable effects on your games. We took these cheats away to be safe. However, we took a few TOO many away. We have added the following cheats back: stats.set_skill_level stats.set_stat sims.fill_all_commodities stats.fill_commodities_household Plants inside a planter box can now receive water again. Get to Work As expected, any objects placed in the Modern Metallic Illuminated Display Case can now be moved, removed, and so forth. Seasons Calendar events will now occur on the day for which you planned them, thus ending centuries of debate on the purpose of a calendar. Player created events will now appear on the calendar as expected. NOTE: As a result of some calendar improvements, the dates for some of your currently scheduled events MAY change, but this will only happen once. In an unexpectedly diabolical twist, Sims were hosting pool parties in the winter and their guests were freezing to death. Yikes! Sims invited to the pool party are now immune to the effects of the cold during the party. We fixed an audio issue when Teen Sims plead for Forgiveness on gnomes. -SimGuruGrant
Gardening bugs with Eco-Lifestyle
Something has gone terribly wrong with plants and gardening. Last night, I decided to try out a gardening sim with the new expansion. So I planted a bunch of things (at normal quality) and played for a few hours. But eventually I noticed that my plants were up to perfect quality already, but I had never evolved them. However, the produce they generated was not perfect quality. (This, incidentally, also made progressing in the gardening aspiration impossible because I couldn't evolve 5 plants; they were evolving automatically.) I tried again tonight. Made a new sim. Planted things at normal quality. Took a break from the game for an hour to have dinner. When I loaded it up after dinner, those plants were Excellent quality. The same ones that were normal quality when I quit the game. There are also some odd bugs with Sage. It sometimes doesn't list having a season, and it goes back and forth between its planted bush-like shape and the small herb-like shape even while planted. (So sometimes it looks like a piece of sage is just there on the ground; sometimes it is a bush. I keep thinking I forgot to plant it, but no. The graphic is unstable.) I think I saw one of the other herbs (basil or parsley) do that once, but I couldn't remember which one. A lot of wild plants are also now having weird bugs. For instance, they will sparkle like they can be harvested when they aren't even in their fully-grown form. (I saw this on plants in the Willow Creek park and also just plants around the neighborhood, so it seems to be pervasive.) Also, I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but bonding with bees generates a huge amount of influence, which seems odd. (Talking to plants does too.) I hope the auto-evolving issue can be patched at some point because I really love gardening in the Sims! But it isn't satisfying if the plants just magically become perfect!Gallery misconduct
For quite some time now, many gallery members have been watching a cheat problem with the number of downloads on individual creations. Those who cheat do so in order to increase their popularity to the detriment of others. They do this by exploiting a design error hidden in the gallery game coding. In a matter of a few minutes a simmer doing this can give themselves many fake downloads. We are really dismayed to see this cheat problem affecting so many creators at this time. Many of us have reported this problem as directed to do so in the rules, but we find that the problem is still there. We would like this problem to be fixed so that the fair play, honesty and the positive atmosphere can come back to the gallery. Thank you for your attention, respectfully, Kass
