I've played nearly 1,000 hours since I started regularly on PC, and everything was fine until the second update of this season. I don’t think it's a hardware issue. I'm running a 4080 RTX, Ryzen 5 5950X, and 32GB of 3600MHz G.Skill RAM. I monitor temps with HWInfo, and both the CPU and GPU stay within safe ranges.
The issue might, at least tangentially, be related to in-game audio. Whenever the bug occurs, I usually hear a voice line (like the announcer or a character), and then the game window just closes right after. It's never the same line twice, I just have noticed a pattern of some sound playing, and then the game closing itself. There is no game freeze, no crash report, no error. I don't manually close it, and there's no indication that the game shut down improperly. One moment I’m running around in-game, and the next the game window is just gone and I'm staring at my desktop.
This is especially frustrating in ranked matches. If it happens too often and I don’t reconnect quickly, I get hit with the 10 minute penalty. A friend of mine told me he had the same issue, and he got booted from enough matches against his will that it apparently ended up with his account (temporarily?) inaccessible. I really don’t want that to happen to me...
Also, since there's no crash log, I can’t troubleshoot it after the fact...
Has anyone else experienced this? Any recommended fixes?
